Responsibilities:
The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the infection surveillance, prevention and control program, promoting safe, effective infection control practices and for assuring facility infection control compliance with regulating agenciesAdditional duties may include assisting with patient safety and risk management activities, performing investigational reviews, collecting performance improvement data, and reviewing clinical trial studiesThis individual will be doing chart reviews for possible surgical site infections (SSIs), gathering documentation, determining which SSI definition is met, and filling out the abstraction formInfection Preventionist at a client facility which is primarily long-term care
Location: Steven Hirsch & Associates (SHA) is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist for a full-time position in the long-term care setting. Incumbent will direct and manage infection control programs at this San Diego County location. This position may also be part of the multi-disciplinary accreditation teams providing survey support to hospitals and healthcare systems.
Requirements: CIC Certification, a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Science, Medical Technology, or Healthcare (Master’s Degree preferred); ability to travel within and outside of California for multiple day engagements; a California Drivers’ License; a dependable vehicle with adequate insurance and must have the capability of utilizing e-mail, MS Office, and mobile phone.
