I. General Terms and Conditions
The following terms apply to all awards listed below:

Recognition: Recipients will be recognized at the earliest chapter meeting preceding the event and listed on the official chapter resource page.

Notification: Applicants will be notified of their status within one week of the application deadline, or as soon as administratively feasible.

Presentation Requirement: Upon selection, recipients are strongly encouraged to provide a 5–10 minute presentation at a subsequent chapter meeting detailing their educational experience and lessons learned. Coordination with the Chapter Board is required to schedule this presentation.

Frequency: Awards are presented no more than once per calendar year and are subject to availability. The Chapter Board reserves the right to withhold awards in any given year.

Reimbursement: All awards are distributed as reimbursements for valid, documented expenses (registration, hotel, travel, etc.) up to the specified maximum amount.
II. Award Categories
1. National APIC Conference Award
Maximum Reimbursement: $2,000.00
Availability: One (1) award per year.

Eligibility & Criteria:

Chapter Tenure: Minimum of one (1) year of active participation in the SDIC Chapter.

Membership Status: Must have been an APIC member for at least one year preceding the application and hold active or lifetime membership for the current application year.

Certification: Must be currently Certified in Infection Prevention (CIC, A-IPC, LTC-CIP, AL-CIP) by the CBIC. Exception: Lapsed certification due to retirement is acceptable.

Exclusions: Members of the SDIC Chapter Awards & Nominating Committee are ineligible during their term of service.
- Applicants not selected for this award will be enrolled as applicants for the Chapter Standard Award.
2. Cheryl Richardson “Leg Day” Award
Maximum Reimbursement: $750.00
Availability: One (1) award per year.

Eligibility & Criteria:

Chapter Tenure: Minimum of one (1) year of active participation in the SDIC Chapter.

Membership Status: Must be a current APIC and San Diego & Imperial County Chapter (057) member, or a documented consistent contributor to the chapter.

Purpose: Funding is specifically designated for participation in the California APIC Coordinating Council (CA APIC) Legislative Day to advocate for Infection Prevention at the State Capitol.

3. Chapter Standard Award
Maximum Reimbursement: $500.00
Availability: Three (3) awards per year.

Eligibility & Criteria:

Chapter Tenure: Minimum of one (1) year of active participation in the SDIC Chapter.

Membership Status: Must be a current APIC and San Diego & Imperial County Chapter (057) member, or a documented consistent contributor to the chapter.

Permissible Expenses: Registration, travel, lodging, and educational materials.

Non-Permissible Expenses: This award cannot be used for CBIC exam or recertification fees. However, it may be applied toward study guides or preparation materials.
III. Application Process
All applications are hosted via Google Forms. Please note that some corporate networks may block this platform; it is recommended to access the links via a personal device or public Wi-Fi.
